Driveway cleaning & sealing in Terrigal

Terrigal is the Central Coast at its most polished — the Norfolk pines along The Esplanade, The Skillion rising over the bay, and hillside homes stacked up for the ocean view. A tired, salt-streaked driveway sticks out badly against that kind of address. We clean it back to new and seal in a finish that holds.

Why Terrigal driveways need it

Built for what the coast does to Terrigal.

Terrigal driveways cop it from two directions. Homes up on the slopes behind The Esplanade and around Terrigal Drive get constant salt haze blowing in off the bay, which greys concrete and feeds algae in the shaded sections. Down closer to the beach and the lagoon, the mature Norfolk pines and gums drop needles, sap and leaf litter that stain porous surfaces fast. Add the humidity and the relentless northern sun on the hillside driveways, and an unsealed slab dulls and blotches within a couple of seasons. A proper clean lifts the grime out of the pores, and the seal is what stops it soaking straight back in.

On the ground in Terrigal

The driveways we see around here.

The premium builds along the ridgelines and around The Haven tend to run exposed aggregate or feature stone, and that texture traps everything the coast throws at it. Closer to the village you get the original 1970s and 80s brick-and-tile homes with plain concrete drives that have gone chalky and green down one edge. Both need the same two things done properly — a deep clean that gets into the aggregate or the concrete pores, then a seal that brings the colour up and keeps it there.

Terrigal is right in the middle of our patch, so we're through here most weeks and can usually get you booked in quickly.

Terrigal questions

Good to know.

The Norfolk pines near the Esplanade drop everything on my driveway — will sealing actually help?+

Yes. The needles, sap and pollen off the pines stain because bare concrete and aggregate are porous and soak the organic matter straight in. Once we clean it back and seal it, the surface is far less absorbent, so the drop sits on top and hoses or sweeps off instead of leaving marks.

My place is up on the hill with an ocean view — does the salt really reach that far back?+

It does. The salt haze coming off Terrigal bay carries well up the slopes, and it's a big part of why hillside driveways here grey off and grow algae in the shade. The seal puts a protective barrier over the surface so the salt and moisture can't keep working into it.
